Shively, KY is home rule-class city bordering the west-end of Louisville, KY. This city is considered a suburb of Louisville, due to its inclusion within the Louisville Metro Government. Because of this, Louisville attempted to annex both the residential and business districts. However, they were only successful in annexing the residential portion in 1938.

Shively has been known as “Lively Shively” in the past due to prostitution and adult entertainment in the area. The city was also the site of the Wade Incident of 1954. Despite these struggles, Shively has seen a lot of improvement with the help of public works projects and a focus on community development and tourism.

The city of Middletown KY has a rather unique history. It was first incorporated to Jefferson County in 1797, and is named for its location between Shelbyville, KY and Louisville, KY. About Clarksville, IN
